WanderingOff.

I'm no longer afraid of wanderingoff the well trodden path.

As an artist I have often struggled with the fear that my work is “all over the place.” Unlike artists who have one style, and perfect it throughout their lifetime, I find passion in continuous exploration. My heart leaps when I successfully combine different mediums, or find a new way to add texture to a piece. I love pushing the boundaries in art: working with different materials, trying new techniques, and being willing to destroy as I create. There is little planning in my work, and so, I am free to discover and react to whatever presents itself in the moment.

I used to be afraid of working this way, as if it were somehow wrong. But I am beginning to get comfortable with the notion that allowing the process to guide me(where ever it may lead) is simply my individual way of creating and I need to work with it, not against it.

All this to say, yes, these works are different from what I have done in the past, and yes, you can expect each series I create will diverge in some way from the last.

I’m grateful to create art every day, and I appreciate you accompanying me on my journey.
